Last year, the Capital Development Authority began a very strong anti-encroachment campaign against illegal buildings in Islamabad. The authority took down many buildings that were illegally built on occupied government land. The biggest of which was seen on Kashmir Highway G-13 where nearly every building constructed on the side of the road were torn apart.
The anti-encroachment drive by the authority saw another major move this week when the officials ordered to take action against some of the oldest and greatest buildings of Islamabad, including the Centaurus Mall and Saudi Pak Tower.
The drive took down several other encroachments by the buildings in the Blue Area as well as in sectors F6, and F7. Later on, CDA’s team was even seen in D12, GT Road, Margalla Road, and many other areas of Islamabad.
Even though what CDA is doing is good, but it has met with a fair share of criticism from the local public who believe the authority is taking action against only particular parties and ignoring the rest.
The biggest complaint of the public is that CDA and other authorities of Islamabad are not doing anything about the constructions made in F-8 Markaz.
